First, researchers spotted what might be traces of certain molecules in the atmosphere of K2-18b — a planet way out there in the cosmic wilderness. On Earth, these molecules are connected to living things. Then NASA dropped another bombshell about a Martian rock called Cheyava Falls, which had these cool斑点 patterns that could be signs of ancient microbial activity.

The media, understandably, went wild. And NASA officials themselves didn't exactly pour cold water on the excitement.
