Honestly? The most likely scenario for human extinction is probably something we haven't even thought of yet. Throughout history, the things that actually ended civilizations were rarely what people were worried about at the time.
But here's my take: we're the first species in Earth's history that's actually capable of understanding these risks. That's either terrifying or empowering, depending on how you look at it.
Maybe the real question isn't "how will we end" but "what are we going to do about it?" Because unlike the dinosaurs, we've got technology, science, and the cognitive ability to plan for threats that haven't happened yet.
That gives me a little hope, honestly. Sure, the universe is vast and indifferent and probably full of ways to annihilate us. But we're also pretty clever when we put our minds to it.
